Scoring Adjustment within the Vertex Golf App
The Scoring Adjustment Tool within the Vertex Golf App, is designed to hand over flexibility of the scoring system to the user and or the management of such between the coach and student.
(Available: est. 2nd April 2025)
Part 1: Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced
By default the scoring system for Accuracy and Consistency is set to an Intermediate Level, if you find this a bit tough to start with, then you can drop to a more forgiving set of parameters, or if you want to challenge yourself at the highest level, you can up the ante, to a more advanced level.
Part 2: Customising the scoring system to you as an individual
CAUTION: This is best done in consultation with your golf coach.
Adjusting the ‘Mean’ value of the scoring system can allow the user to target specific outcomes and objectives.
(1) A user might have an inbuilt aiming bias to the left or right, let’s for example state the golfer has an Aim bias to the left of 1° and as such when it comes to face change, the player may actually be looking to achieve an aim bias of 1° to the right. Our system allows for a player to adjust the Mean value to their own set objectives.
(2) On a session by session basis, a player might be practicing “feels” with the objective of targeting 1° to the left and then 1° to the right, as such, adjusting the scoring system as and when required, will allow the player train certain feels, and scored against such feels.
When adjusting the scoring system, it is important to understand what ‘+’ and ‘-‘ stands for.
