Standard Measures
Herewith is a brief definition of measures found within the “Standard” version of the Vertex Golf App / System.
Face Change
Face Change measures the difference between the Face Angle Position at address and the Face angle Position at Impact, in the absence of a registered target.
Key Focus:
Keep your Face Change. [add importance of consistency between 0 and 1]
Backstroke Rotation & Forward Stroke Rotation
Club Face Rotation on the back / forward stroke, is a measure of how much the face of the club, opens and closes relative to the path it is travelling on. There are a significant number of factors to determine what is right or wrong, depending on your natural putting stroke and what type and length of putter you should use.
It is however most important to focus on consistency between the results, than the result itself. “Face Balanced” putters with a CG located close to the centre of the putter tend to generate minimal stroke rotation, whilst “Toe Heavy” putters, where the Toe of the putter likes to flow more, promotes greater rotation in the stroke.
Lie Angle Impact
Angle of the shaft relative to its calibrated position at impact.
Key Focus:
Aim to keep your Lie Angle within 0-2°, outside of this you might consider a putter length change.
Rhythm
The relationship between your backstroke time and your forward stroke time (Back to Impact) depicted as a ratio.
Key Focus:
Good typical range would be between 1.8 and 2.2
Backstroke Time
Time it takes from your start/address position to the top of the backswing.
Forward Stroke Time
Time it takes from the top of your backswing to impact
Total Stroke Time
Time it takes for your stroke from you’re your takeaway to impact.
Backstroke Length
Stroke length from your start/address position to the back of your stroke.
Club Head Speed at Impact
Club Head Speed at Impact is measure of the speed (meters per second*) that the club head is travelling, at the moment of impact with the golf ball.
